Marry Pottins is a venture with a profoundly personal backstory centered around the life of Brandi Ortega. It reflects her journey from struggling with personal and family health issues to finding relief and a new path in life through the use of medical marijuana.
The mission of Marry Pottins is deeply intertwined with community, education, and the versatile uses of cannabis, particularly emphasizing the medicinal benefits for both physical and mental health. The motto “kindness is contagious” reflects the underlying ethos of care and support that drives the initiative.
As a licensed USDA hemp producer, Brandi began this journey in 2018 to help her 10-year-old son get off eleven different medications. She realized that she could help so many more, breaking the stigma one step at a time. She went from vending every event she could to farmer’s markets, to her very own retail store. Eventually, expanding to some acreage behind her mother’s house and thriving off faith in God’s good works, she founded a nonprofit company that is flourishing.
A leader in Missouri for the NWIAA, National Women in Agricultural Association, she also runs a garden club, “Marry Pottins’ Misfits”. Teaching them horticulture, with the belief if you “Give a kid a seed and teach them how to grow, they will eat for a lifetime”. She also contracts with local restaurants for commercial vegetable produce.
